Welcome to Glad to Learn

At Glad to Learn, we believe that education should inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence — both in and beyond the classroom. Founded by Newport Beach native Ryan Gladych, our program was built from a love of learning, community, and the outdoors.

Growing up along the Orange County coast, Ryan recognized the power of combining academics with movement, exploration, and play. That vision became the foundation of Glad to Learn’s unique approach: pairing personalized academic support with fun, hands-on, and play-based experiences.

Our signature Learn and Playsessions bring learning to life — from surf sessions paired with homework help to crafting projects paired with study skills development. We also offer exciting enrichment programming: writing workshops that spark expression and build communication skills; reading groups that strengthen comprehension and critical analysis skills, cultivating a lifelong love of reading; and outdoor education adventures where students dig into nature—learning about native plants, building gardening skills, and discovering how fun it is to grow and care for the world around them.

Each student’s path is tailored to their strengths, interests, and goals, guided by educators who value growth of both the mind and the whole person.

Rooted in Newport Beach and serving families across coastal Orange County, Glad to Learn is more than tutoring — it’s a growing community that helps students learn with joy, explore with purpose, and grow with confidence.

Our Location

Glad to Learn doesn’t believe learning should be confined to a classroom or office. Instead, we meet students in welcoming public locations throughout Newport Beach — including the Newport Beach Public Library, local coffee shops, parks, beaches, and coastal trails — as well as offering in-home private tutoring.

Whether it’s a focused study session at the library, a creative writing exercise by the ocean, or a Learn and Play™ lesson outdoors, each location is chosen to inspire curiosity, balance, and connection. By learning in the heart of our community, students experience education that feels natural, engaging, and real.

Hours
